Refer the attachment for figure.

Let's see the answer step by step.

In the figure,

AB is the building of height 72 metres.

The position of two persons is C and D. ( B - C - D )

Let BC be x and CD be y.

Angle of Elevation from C is 60°.

In right angled ∆ ABC,

tan Angle ACB = AB/BC = 72/x

So,

√3 = 72/x

x = 72/√3

( Rationalizing the denominator )

= 72√3 / 3

= 24√3 metres... (1)

Angle of Elevation from D is 30°

In right angled ∆ ABD,

tan Angle ABD = tan 30° = AB/BD

= 72/(x + y)

From (1),

1/√3 = 72/(24√3 + y)

24√3 + y = 72 √3

y = 72√3 - 24√3

y = 48√3

( √3 = 1.73 )

y = 48 × 1.73

y = 83.04 metres.

Hence,

Distance between the two persons is 83.04 metres.

Hope it helps.

Solution:-

Given ;

Height of Tower = 72m.

To Find;

Distance B/w the two person = ?

Find;

Let "X" be the Distance between the two boys.

& (x + y) be the Distance between the last boy to the foot of the building.

In ∆ ABC,

Tan 60° = AB/ BC

=> √3 = 72 / BC

=> BC = 72 / 1.73

=> BC = 41.61 m.

Now,

In ∆ ABD,

Tan 30° = AB/ BD

=> 1/√3 = 72 / (x + y)

=> x + y = 72 × 1.73

=> x = 124.56 - 41.61

=> x = 82.95.

Hence, The Distance between the two boys is 82.95m
