The work done carrying a unit positive charge from a point to other point is known as the electric potential difference of the circuit.

ELECTRIC POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE - It is defined as the work done per unit charge in moving a unit positive charge from one point to another .

The electric potential difference between two points is said to be 1 Volt , if 1 Joule of work done in moving 1 Coulomb of electric charge from one point to other point .
