(a)The Government of India has taken several milestone initiatives for conservation and protection of wild animals including tiger, in the country, interalia, including the State of Karnataka and the details are at Annexure-I.

(b)Final approval has been accorded to Kudremukh National Park (Karnataka) for declaring as a tiger reserve by the State. Besides this, the State Government of Karnataka has also been advised to send proposals for declaring the Cauveri-MM Hills Wildlife Sanctuary as a tiger reserve.
