1st step :- split the figure and name them.

We have splitted in two parts i.e, (I) and (II)

let us find the area of the rec. (I) i.e, :-

(3 × 1 )sq.cm. = 3cm.sq.

and the area of the part (II) i.e, :-

(5 × 2) cm.sq. = 10cm.sq.

Therefore total area of the figure is (3 + 10) sq.cm. = 13cm.sq. ans.
