Answer:

The houses of Harappan cities were located on either sides of the streets. They had a drainage system which was the best in the ancient times. Their houses were made of baked mud or clay bricks. Their brickwork prevented the leakage of dirty water.

Citadel is like a fortress on a higher ground which had temples, great bath and large buildings. People of higher classes lived here. It can also be called the upper town.

Answer:

The houses varied in size. Some might have had two storeys. The houses were made of burnt bricks. Most of the houses had a central courtyard, a well, a bathing area, and a kitchen.

Most of the cities like Harappa and Mohenjodaro were divided into two parts. The part that was built on a raised height is called the citadel or 'acropolis'. The part with a low height but a larger area is called the lower town. The citadel was built on a raised ground and had high walls made of bricks.
