[a]
The factors that affecting the friction are :-
- Roughness of the object.
- Smoothness of the object.
- Force and pressure acting on the two surfaces in contact
[b]
Three types of frictions are :-
- static friction.
- rolling friction.
- sliding friction.
Decreasing order of the three types of fractions is :-
→ static friction > sliding friction > rolling friction.
[c]
(i) Rolling friction.
→ Rolling Friction :- the rolling friction acts when one object rolles over another object. Rolling friction is much less than sliding friction.
(ii) Sliding friction.
→ Sliding friction :- the sliding friction acts between an object and a surface when the object slides over their surface. Sliding friction is less than static friction.
(iii) static friction.
→ Static friction :- the static friction acts when an object try to move at rest. static friction is greater than all the other fractions.
