[a]

The factors that affecting the friction are :-

  • Roughness of the object.
  • Smoothness of the object.
  • Force and pressure acting on the two surfaces in contact

[b]

Three types of frictions are :-

  1. static friction.
  2. rolling friction.
  3. sliding friction.

Decreasing order of the three types of fractions is :-

→ static friction > sliding friction > rolling friction.

[c]

(i) Rolling friction.

Rolling Friction :- the rolling friction acts when one object rolles over another object. Rolling friction is much less than sliding friction.

(ii) Sliding friction.

Sliding friction :- the sliding friction acts between an object and a surface when the object slides over their surface. Sliding friction is less than static friction.

(iii) static friction.

Static friction :- the static friction acts when an object try to move at rest. static friction is greater than all the other fractions.
