A. Pressure = 15 Pa

Area = 3m^{2}

Force= Pressure × Area

Force = 15 × 3

Force = 45 Newtons

B. When converging the dimensions from cm to m we have :-

20 cm = 0.2m

10 cm = 0.1 m

5 cm = 0.05 m (placed height is on the sand)

According to Question,

To find the pressure exerted by brick on the sand = \frac{Force}{Area} = \frac{20}{0.05} = 400 Pa.

Answer:

(a)Force is 45N

(b)Pressure exerted by the brick is,

1000 \frac{N}{ {m}^{2} }

Explanation:

(a) Given Pressure is 15Pa

Surface Area is 3m^2

Then force is given P× A

F = 15 × 3

F = 45N

(b)Given Force applied by brick on sand is F = 20N

Dimensions of the brick is

Length = 20cm

Width = 10cm

Height = 5cm

Base area = Length × Width

=> 20cm \times 10cm

= > \: 200 {cm}^{2}

Now,

Pressure is given by,

P = F/base Area

= > \frac{20N}{200 {cm}^{2} }

= > \frac{20 \times {10}^{ 4} N}{200 {m}^{2} }

= > 1000 \frac{N}{ {m}^{2} }

That's all
