Here we use Kepler's third law of orbital motion , and it States that -

T² ∝ R³

  • ( T¹)²/(R¹)³ = (T²)²/(R¹/4)³

  • (T¹)²/(R¹)³ = 64(T²)²/(R¹)³

(R¹)³ Cancelled

  • ( T¹)² = 64(T²)²

  • (T¹)²/64 = (T²)²

Taking the square root both sides -

  • √(T¹)²/64 = √(T²)²

  • T¹/8 = T²

Hence,

  • The duration of an year will become 1/8 times.

Kepler's Third Law of motion States that -

The square of the average orbital period of a planet is directly proportional to the cube of it's average orbital radius.
