Here we use Kepler's third law of orbital motion , and it States that -
T² ∝ R³
- ( T¹)²/(R¹)³ = (T²)²/(R¹/4)³
- (T¹)²/(R¹)³ = 64(T²)²/(R¹)³
(R¹)³ Cancelled
- ( T¹)² = 64(T²)²
- (T¹)²/64 = (T²)²
Taking the square root both sides -
- √(T¹)²/64 = √(T²)²
- T¹/8 = T²
Hence,
- The duration of an year will become 1/8 times.
