Step-by-step explanation:

In right angles triangle BAC,

AB = 5 cm and AC = 12 cm

Area of triangle =1/2 x base x height

= 1/2x AB x AC = 1/2 x 5 x 12 = 30 cm2 Now, in Δ ABC, Area of triangle ABC

=1/2 x BC x AD

⇒ 30 = 1/2 x 13 x AD

⇒ AD = (30 x 2)/13

= 60/13

= 4.615 cm..

Answer:

A) Right angled triangle ABC ,

∠A = 90°

AB = 5 cm ,         AC = 12 cm

Area of the right angle triangle will be

= (\frac{AB*AC}{2} )

= \frac{5 * 12}{2}

= 5 cm × 6 cm

= 30 square cm ---Answer of Part (A)

B) : In triangle ABC ,

BC ⊥ AD ,

BC = 13 cm

area of triangle ABC = \frac{Base * Altitude}{2}

30 sq cm = \frac{BC*AD}{2}

30 = \frac{13*AD}{2}

30 × 2 = 13 × AD

60 / 13 = AD

AD ≈ 4.615 cm
