Please answer me these questions!!

1. A force of 1200 N acts on the surface of area 10cm sq. cm normally. What would be the thrust and pressure on the surface?

2. Calculate the pressure produced by a force of 800N acting on an are of 2.0m sq.

Explanation:

  1. Given force of 1200 n acts on the surface of area 10 cm square, here force is same as thrust which is equal to 1200 N, Area = 10 sq cm

We need to convert area into sq m

So 10 sq cm = 10 cm x cm = 10 cm^2

                  = 10 / 100 x 100 = 1 / 1000 m^2 = 0.001 m^2

 Pressure = Force / unit area

                = 1200 / 0.001

               = 1200 x 1000

Pressure = 12 x 10^5 Pascals

2.

Pressure=force/area

Force=800n

Area=2m sq.

Pressure=800/2=400

Hey there!

1) Given,

Force(F) = 1200 N

Area (A) = 10 cm² = 0.001 m²

We know,

Thrust is the force acting normally to a surface.

So, Thrust = 1200 N

And, Pressure = Thrust / Area

                        = 1200 / 0.001

                       = 1200000 Pa

                       = 1.2 × 10⁶ Pa

2) Force (F) = 800 N

Area(A) = 2.0 m²

Pressure = F / A

               = 800 / 2

Pressure = 400 Pa

Hope It Helps You!
