Answer:

In a square, length of diagonal = side of square

So, side of square = 42 cm

Area of square = side x side

                            = 42 x 42

                           =  1764 cm²

circumference of circle = 2πr

             2x 22/7 x r = 44

            44/7 x r = 44

                   r = 44 x 7/44

                 r = 7

diameter = 2 x radius

       d = 2 x 7

        d = 14

Answer:

21. solution :

length of the diagonal of square = 42cm

as it is a square, it's sides are equal and every angle measures 90°

in triangle ABC,

angle ABC = 90° and AB = BC

hence it is a right angle ∆ [ see figure ]

let the square side as triangle's side = S

AC² = AB²+ BC² ( Pythagoras theorem )

42² = S²+ S²

1764 = 2S²

S² = 1764 / 2

S² = 882

area of a square = S×S

= S²

therefore area of square with diagonal 42cm = 882cm²

22. solution :

Circumference of the circle = 44cm

to find it's radius and diameter,

circumference of a circle = 2πr

44 = 2× 22/7 × r

44 × 7 = 2× 22× r

44 × 7 = 44 × r

r = 44×7 / 44

r = 7

therefore, radius = 7cm

diameter = 2r

= 2 × 7

= 14cm

hope it helps !!!
