both the elements wants to be stable
so 2 atoms of Al will react with 3 atoms of Oxygen
4al+3O2=2(al2o3)

hey mate!

Al+3 and O-2

combines to form.. Al2O3

here ,
when we split Al203

we get,

2Al+3. + 3O-2

i.e. two atoms of aluminium combines with 3 atoms of oxygen..

to form stable compound.. here charge of both aluminium and oxy4 is balanced
