juice are Secrettted from stomach
5] Succus entericus also called intestinal juice is a fluid secreted in the small intestine in small quantities .
Succus entericus is the alkaline secretion produced by glands in the duodenum wall, which consists of water, mucoproteins, and carbonate hydrogen ions .
FUNCTION :-
This intestinal juice is formed by the secretions of the mucosal brush boundary cells along with the secretions of goblet cells .
It helps counteract the highly acidic and proteolytic chyme entering from the stomach into the small intestine, and thus protects the duodenum against damage .

6] Digestion occurs in the digestive system .
☞ The digestive system contains numerous organs that contribute to the secretion of digestive juices .
☞These organs include the salivary glands, stomach, liver, pancreas and small intestine .
ENZYMES and JUICES :-
- Salivary Gland :-
✍️ Secretes salivary amylase .
- Stomach :-
✍️ Secretes Proteases .
✍️ Proteases → [Pepsinogen → Pepsin]
- Liver :-
✍️ Secretes Bile .
✍️ Biles are stored in the “gall bladder” .
- Pancreas :-
✍️ Produces Bicarbonate ions .
✍️ Some enzymes like Lipase, amylase and protease .
- Small Intestine :-
✍️ Secretes Intestinal juice .
✍️ Intestinal juice are secreted from crypts of leiberkuhn .

7] Sphincters control the passage of liquids and solids .
☞ The pyloric sphincter is a band of smooth muscle at the junction between the pylorus of the stomach and the duodenum of the small intestine .
FUNCTION :-
It plays an important role in digestion, where it acts as a valve to controls the flow of partially digested food from the stomach to the small intestine .

8] Peristalsis is a series of wave-like muscle contractions that moves food to different processing stations in the digestive tract .
☞ The process of peristalsis begins in the oesophagus when a bolus of food is swallowed .
☞ Along with segmentation or mixing of food, peristalsis is an essential part of providing the body with nutrients .
