Step-by-step explanation:

3.we are required to fill it upto to 50%.

So, 50% of the total capacity of the tank is=> 50*50/100 = 25 litres.

therefore, amount of water to be put in the tank to get filled its desired amount is 25-15 = 10 liters

4.Let the initial length and width of rectangle is l and b respectively.

The area of rectangle is l*b.

The length is increased by 50 % which means that the the length becomes 150% of original length {say 1.5 times the original length}.

The area should be l`*b`

Where l` is equal to 1.5 l

The two area should be equal then

l`*b`= l*b

1.5l* b`= l*b

b`= (l*b) /1.5l

= 2/3 b

Hence the width should be decreased to 2/3b.

The % decrease in width should be (1-2/3)*100 or 33.33%
