16. In a school, there are 704 desks to be placed in 22 classrooms. If the same number of desks are placed in each classroom, then how many desks will be there in each classroom?

Solution :

Number of desk = 704

Number of classrooms = 22

The same number i.e., 22 number of desks are placed in each classroom.

Then total number of desk in each room -

\sf\to\:\frac{Total~number~of~desk}{Number~of~desk~in~each~classroom}

Substituting the values

\sf\to\:\frac{704}{22}

Reducing the fraction to lower terms

\sf\to\:\cancel{\frac{704}{22}}

\bf\to\:32

\sf\therefore\:Number~of~desk~in~each~classroom~=~32

Henceforth, \sf\color{purple}{option~(A)} is correct.

17. The sum of \sf\:3^{rd} multiple of 3 and \sf\:5^{th} multiple of 5 is divisible by -

Solution :

\sf\:3^{rd}~multiple~of~3~ = \small\fbox{9}

\sf\:5^{th}~multiple~of~5~ = \small\fbox{25}

Sum of \sf\:3^{rd} multiple of 3 and \sf\:5^{th} multiple of 5 -

\sf\to\: 9 + 25

\sf\to\:34

Now we got the sum as 34 . So 34 will be divided by \large{\mathfrak\red{2}}.

\sf\because\:\frac{34}{2}

\sf\to\:\cancel{\frac{34}{2}}

\sf\to\:14

Henceforth, \sf\color{purple}{option~(D)} is correct.

18. Which of the following could be solved by using the sentence ‘A - 5’ ?

Solution :

Tarun is 5 years younger than Anny. If A is Anny's age in years then how old is Tarun.

Given, the age of Anny A yrs.

According to the question :

\sf\:Tarun's~age~=~5~years~younger~than~Anny

\sf\to\:Tarun's~age~=~A-5

Henceforth, \sf\color{purple}{option~(B)} is correct.
