Let the length of shortest side = x cm

Hypotenuse=(12+x) cm

Other side = 12+x -6=(6+x) cm

Therefore by pythogoras theorem,

(Hypotenuse)^2=(Shortest side )^2+(Other side)^2

(12+x)^2=x^2+(6+x)^2

144+x^2+24x=x^2+36+x^2+12x

144-36=2x^2+12x-x^2-24x

108=x^2-12x

x^2-12x-108=0

x^2-18x+6x-108=0

x(x-18)+6(x-18)=0

(x-18)(x+6)=0

x=18 or x=-6

Since x is side which can't be negative.

Therefore , x=18cm

Length of shortest side =18cm

Length of Hypotenuse = 30cm

Length of Other side = 24 cm

Answer:

x = 18 so shortest side is 18. hypotenuse = 12 + 18 = 30

and third side = 6 + 18 = 24
