Kink in the clinical thermometer helps to prevents the falling of mercury present in capillary tube into bulb. It ensures that the user takes the correct reading of temperature.
measurements of a thermometer in celcius is from 35°C to 42°C, and in farenheit is from 94°F to 108°F.
