Area of square ABCD=Area of triangle ABC+Area of triangle BDC
(by naming the figure)
=2(1/2*Base*Height)
(since the area of the 2triangles is same)
2(1/2*32*16)
2*256
=512cm^2
By heron's formula,
√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
where s =(a+b+c)/2 and a,b and c are the three sides of the triangle
s=(6+6+8)/2=20/2=10
√10(10-6)(10-6)(10-8)
√10*4*4*2
prime factorizing the no.s ,we get
√2*5*2*2*2*2*2
2*2*2√5
=8√5cm^2

Therefore,Area needed for
1st shade=256cm^2
2nd shade=256cm^2
3rd shade=8√5cm^2

hope it helps...
