The amount which she got back (INR) =
500 - Cost of her total purchase.
She purchased 2½(5/2) kg onions at INR 10 / kg
Cost of onions = Total kg of onions bought × 10 = 5/2 × 10 = INR 25
Again she purchased 1⅜ (11/8) kg potatoes at INR 16.8/11(184/11)
Cost of potatoes = Total kg of potatoes bought × 184/11 = 11/8 × 184/11 = INR 23
Total cost = 23 + 25 = INR 48
Amount she got back = 500-48 = INR 452.
