By Pythagoras theorem:

AD^2 + 15^2 = 17^2

AD = root of 289-225

AD = 8 cm

AD2 + BD2 = 10^2

BD = Root of 100 - 64

BD = root of 36

= 6 m

We will use Pythagoras theorem to find out AD.
Formula = H^2 = P^2 + B^2
AC^2 = AD^2 + DC^2
17^2 = AD^2 + 15^2
289 = AD^2 + 225
289 - 225 = AD^2
64 = AD^2
8 = AD
Again we will use Pythagoras theorem to find BD. —
AB^2 = AD^2 + BD^2
10^2 = 8^2 + BD^2
100 = 64 + BD^2
100 - 64 = BD^2
36 = BD^2
6 = BD

So, the length of BD is 6 m.
