The expression for the motion of an object is given as x (t) = 0.08 . The average velocity of the object between t = 3 and t = 5 s is ...

Initial position of object :

➙ x₁ = 0.08 • t₁³

➙ x₁ = 0.08 • (3)³

➙ x₁ = 0.08 • 27

x₁ = 2.16 m

Final position of object :

➙ x₂ = 0.08 • t₂²

➙ x₂ = 0.08 • (5)²

➙ x₂ = 0.08 • 25

x₂ = 10 m

We know that;

\sf\dashrightarrow\: Displacement=Change\:in\: position\:(\Delta x)

\sf\dashrightarrow\: Displacement=x_2-x_1

\sf\dashrightarrow\: Displacement=10-2.16

\bf\dashrightarrow\: Displacement=7.84\:m

Average velocity is defined as the ratio of total displacement to the total time taken.

  • It is a vector quantity having both magnitude as well as direction.
  • It can be positive, negative or zero.
  • SI unit : m/s

\sf\dashrightarrow\:v=\dfrac{Displacement}{Time}

\sf\dashrightarrow\:v=\dfrac{7.84}{5-3}

\sf\dashrightarrow\:v=\dfrac{7.84}{2}

\dashrightarrow\:\underline{\boxed{\bf{\gray{v=3.92\:ms^{-1}}}}}

Answer:

x¹ = 0.08 x 27m

x²=0.08 x 125m

average velocity, v =( x²- x¹)/t(f) -t(I)

= (0.08 x 98)/2

=0.04 x 98

=3.92 m/s
