Radius of the circle = 8 cm
Diameter of the circle in which square is inscribed= Diagonal of square (refer to the attachment.
Diameter=2×8
=16 cm.
So , diagonal=16 cm
We know that, each angle of a square= 90°
applying PGT
diagnal^2 = side ^2 +side^2
16^2 =2side^2
256=2side^2
256/2=side^2
128=side^2
√2×2×2×2×2×2×2 =side
2×2×2√2 = side
8√2 = side
Area of the square = side^2
=(8√2)^2
=128 cm^2
