Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We have

x + 7y = 10  --(1)

and

3x - 2y = 7  --(2)

Writing (1) in form of x,

x = 10 - 7y ---(3)

Now substituting value of x we have in (3) in (2)

3 ( 10 - 7y) - 2y = 7

Opening the brackets we get,

30 - 21y - 2y = 7

Solving this,

30 - 23y = 7

Therefore,

23y = 30 - 7

      = 23

Hence,

y = 23/23 = 1

Also, we know through (3) that

x = 10 - 7y  ---(4)

Substituting the value of y that we just found in (4)

x = 10 - 7*1

  = 10 - 7

  = 3

So, x = 3 ; y = 1

Hope it helps!
