Solution :-

  • We know the chemical reaction,

      C + O₂ → CO₂

  • Here, 12g of C reacts with 32 g of O₂ . We can make use of "law of conservation of mass", the total mass of the reactants must be equal to the total mass of the products.  (Here C & O₂ are reactants and CO₂ is product)
  • Here , the total mass of reactants is 12 + 32 = 44g
  • Therefore, the mass of the product (CO₂) has to be the same i.e 44g.

∴  1) Mass of CO₂ produced is 44g

     2) Law of conservation of mass helped us to determine that value.
