Ans. 1 - the role of-

1. carbohydrates - Carbohydrates are the energy giving nutrients. The main carbohydrates found in our food are in the form of starch and sugar.

2. fats- Fats act as fuels in our body. They are obtained either from animals or from plants.

3. proteins - Proteins are required for growth and repairing of tissues in our body. They help in building new tissues.

4. vitamins- Vitamins are also an important nutrient. Deficiency of any vitamin causes deficiency diseases.

5. minerals- Minerals are needed by our body in small quantities. All of them are essential for proper growth of the body and to maintain good health.

Ans. 2 - Protective foods are foods that contain minerals and vitamins. The minerals and vitamins in the protective food protect the body against various diseases.

Ans. 3- our body need nutritious food for growth, to reproduce and to lead a normal healthy life.

Ans4 - Tasty food is not always nutritious. Where as nutritious food will not be too tasty but but it is full of nutrients. For example - We don't like to eat chappti, milk, vegetables etc. We don't like to eat them but they are full of nutrients.

carbohydrates - moong daal, sweet potato, rice, beans, peas , maize and white bread.

proteins - milk fish, egg, buttermilk (chhach), cottage cheese (paneer).

Fats - mustard oil and butter.
