Given (a, 1), (b, 1) and (c,1)

Here, x₁ = a, x₂ = b, x₃ = c, y₁ = 1, y₂ = 1, y₃ = 1.

We know the points are collinear if area(∆ABC) = 0.

Area(∆ABC) = (1/2)|x₁(y₂ - y₃) + x₂(y₃ - y₁) + x₃(y₁ - y₂)|

                    = (1/2)|a(1 - 1) + b(1 - 1) + c(1 - 1)|

                   = (1/2) * 0

                   = 0

Therefore, the points are collinear.
