Step-by-step explanation:

given : x³+ax²+bx-2b. ( equation 1 )

x - 6, x = 6

a - b = 4

solve, Put the value of x in equation 1

x³+ax²+bx-2b = 0

(6)³+a(6)²+b(6)-2b = 0

216+36a+6b-2b = 0

36a +4b = -216

4(9a+b)= -216

9a + b = -54. [ given, a-b = 4

a = 4+b ]

9(4+b)+b = -54

36 +9b+b = -54

10b = - 18

b = -18/10

b = -9/5

put, the value of b

a = 4 + b

a = 4 -9/5

a = 20 - 9 /5

a = 11/5

Thus, the value of a is 11/5 and b is - 9/5
