Well, the distance between the longer sides of length 24 cm of the parallelogram, i.e., 12 cm, is the perpendicular distance.

So the area of parallelogram is 24 × 12 cm².

Similarly we have to find the perpendicular distance between the shorter sides of length 18 cm. Let it be x. So the area of the parallelogram is 18x.

Then,

18x = 12 × 24

x = 12 × 24 / 18

x = 16 cm
