Solution :-

2 {x}^{2} + 7x - 4 \\ by \: \: factorisation \: \: method \\ 2 {x}^{2} + 8x - x - 4 = 0 \\ (2 {x}^{2} + 8x)( - x - 4) = 0 \\ 2x(x + 4) - 1(x + 4) \\ (2x - 1)(x + 4) = 0 \\ 2x - 1 = 0 \: \: \: \: or \: \: \: \: x + 4 = 0 \\ 2x = 1 \: \: \: \: or \: \: \: \: x = - 4 \\ x = \frac{1}{2} \: \: \: \: or \: \: \: \: x = - 4
