Answer:

Hello,

Over here we see that x²+1/x²= 223.

Here we apply the algebric expression (a+b)²=a²+b²+2ab

a=x

b=1/x

Forming the expression we get - (x+1/x)²=x²+1/x²+2(x*1/x)

Cutting x*1/x we get 1

So, (x+1/x)²=x²+1/x²+2(1)

=(x+1/x)²=x²+1/x²+2

Putting the value of x²+1/x²=223

So,

=(x+1/x)²=223+2

=(x+1/x)²=225

This is the answer of the (b) part

Now (a+b)²=225 so \sqrt{(a+b)^2}=\sqrt{225}=15

The answer for the (a) part is 15

Hope you got it

Thanks
