Answer:

a.

∵ ∠70° and ∠y are co-interior angles

∴ m∠y = 180- m∠70°

=m∠y = 110°

∵ ∠x and ∠70° are co-interior angles

∴ m∠x = 180 - m∠70°

=m∠x = 110°

∵ ∠y and ∠z are alternate angles

∴ m∠x = m∠y = 110°

b.

∵ ∠50° and the angle that is next to angle x are alternate angles

∴ measurement of the angle that is next to angle x  = m∠50°

∵ ∠100° and the angle made by the combination of ∠x and the angle next to x of measure 50° are co-interior angles

∴ measurement of the angle made by the combination of x and the angle next to x of measurement 50° = 180 - ∠100° = 80°

∴ m∠x = 80 - ∠50°

m∠x = 30°

∵ ∠x and ∠z are alternate angles

∴ m∠z = m∠x = 30°

∵ Sum of all interior angles of triangle = 180

∴ m∠y = 180 - ( 50° + m∠x )

= m∠y = 180 - ( 50° + 30 )

= m∠y = 180 - 80

= m∠y = 100°
