Given : Sanjana bought a slice of square pizza at Rs. 50 and Anjana bought a slice of round pizza at Rs. 50.

To Find : who bought a better deal.

Solution:

A shopkeeper sells pizza in a round shape and in a square shape.

Area of the round shape pizza = \pi r^2

radius of the circle = \frac{diameter}{2}

                               = \frac{30}{2}

                               = 15 cm

Therefore, the area of the round shape pizza = \pi \times 15^2

                                                                           = \pi \times 15 \times 15

                                                                           = π × 225

                                                                           = 706.85 cm²

It is divided into 10 pieces,

so Anjana bought one piece of pizza = \frac{706.85}{10}

                                                             = 70.68 cm²

Area of the square shaped pizza = side²

                                                      = 30 × 30

                                                      = 900 cm²

It is divided into 12 pieces,

So, Sanjana got one piece of pizza = \frac{900}{12}

                                                          = 75 cm²

the difference in the slices = 75 - 70.68 = 4.32 cm²

Therefore, Sanjana got better deal by approximately 4 cm².
