Questíon :-

➝ An electric bulb draws a current of 0.25A for 20 minutes. calculate the amount of electric charge that flows through the circuit.

Gíven :-

➝ Current, I = 0.25A

➝ Time, t = 20min = 1200s

To fínd :-

➝ the amount of electric charge that flows through the circuit

Formula requíred :-

 \boxed{ \bf  I =  \frac{Q}{t} }

Where,

➝ I = current

➝ Q = charge

➝ t = time

Solutíon :-

we know that,

 \longrightarrow \rm I =  \frac{Q}{t}  \\

 \longrightarrow \rm 0.25 =  \frac{Q}{1200}  \\

 \longrightarrow \rm Q = 0.25 \times 1200C

 \longrightarrow \rm \boxed{ Q = 300C}

Thus, the amount of electric charge that flows through the circuit is 300 Coulombs

Additional information......

What is current ?

  • Electric current is defined as the rate at which charge flows through a surface (the cross section of a wire, for example)

SI unit of current is : Ampere

What is charge ?

  • Charge can mean electricity received, as in the shock you'd feel if you put your finger in a wall socket. Charge is also what you do when you use your credit card instead of cash.

SI unit of charge is : Coulomb
