In this figure triangle is divided into two right triangle
In a right triangle square of two sides are equal to the square of hypotenuse side
We take 1 as a and 2 as b
Therefore:
(1) 17^2 - 8^2=a^2
289 - 64 = 225=a^2
Root 225 = 15 = a
(2) 10^2 - 8^2 = b^2
100-64=36=b^2
Root 36=6=b
X=(b+a)=(15+6)=21cm. Ans

length of two sides = 12 & 16 m
Let Hypotenuse = H
Therefore, by pythogoras theorem :
H^2 =12^2 +16^2
H^2 = 144+256
H^2 = 400
H =20 m
