Question 63 :  The square of odd positive integer is of the form for some whole number p, is

Solution : Since we know that odd positive integer is in form of 4q + 1.

Let, a be any positive integer.

⇒ a = 4q + 1

On squaring both the sides we get,

⇒ a² = (4q + 1)²

⇒ a² = 16q² + 8q + 1

⇒ a² = 8(2q² + 1q) + 1

→ a² = 8p + 1

Hence square of any positive odd integer will be in form of 8p + 1.

Hence Option (1) is correct
