1.When iron fillings and sulphur power are mixed and dil HCl is added to the mixture, iron fillings reacts with dil HCl to give H2 (g) gas, which burns with pop sound
Fe(s) + HCl(aq) - FeCl2 (aq) + H2 (g)
2.when iron fillings and sulphur powder is heated and then it reacts with dil HCl, the FeS reacts with HCl to give H2S gas which smells like rotten eggs and will turn lead acetate paper black.
FeS(s) + 2HCl (aq) - - FeCl2 (aq) + H2S (g)
Fe(s) + HCl(aq) - FeCl2 (aq) + H2 (g)
