the diameter of the big circle is 14cm. (since it is the distance between two points joined by a line passing through the centre)

the radius of big circle is 14/2=7cm

the diameter of small circle is 7/4 cm

the radius of circle is (7/4)/2=7/8 cm

area \: of \: circle = \pi \times  {r}^{2}  \:  \: (r = radius) \\ area \: of \: bigger \: circle = \pi \times  {7}^{2}  \\ area \: of \: larger \: circle = \pi \times 49 \\ area \: of \: larger \: circle = 154 \:  {cm}^{2}

area \: of \: circle = \pi \times  {r}^{2}  \:  \: (r = radius) \\ area \: of \: smaller \: circle = \pi \times  { (\frac{7}{8} )}^{2}  \\ area \: of \: smaller \: circle = \pi \times  \frac{49}{64}  \\ area \: of \: smaller \: circle = 2.40625 \:  {cm}^{2}

here we have assumed the value of π as 22/7

shaded area=area of bigger circle-2(area of smaller circle) (since there are two circles of same diameter)

shaded area=154-(2*2.40625)

shaded area=154-4.8125

shaded area=149.1875 cm^2
