(i) Given: C is midpoint of AB and D and E are midpoints of the segments AC and CB respectively.
AB=AD+DC+CE+BE
All are equal...as they are midpoints...so we can make all equal to AD
AB=AD+AD+AD+AD
AB=4AD .....hence proved..
(ii) Given: C is midpoint of AB and D and E are midpoints of the segments AC and CB respectively.
AB=AD+DC+CE+BE
All are equal...as they are midpoints...so we can make all equal to BE
AB=BE+BE+BE+BE
AB=4BE .....hence proved..
AB=AD+DC+CE+BE
All are equal...as they are midpoints...so we can make all equal to AD
AB=AD+AD+AD+AD
AB=4AD .....hence proved..
