R2, R3 are in parallel so 1/Rp

= 1/R2+1/R3

=1/3+1/6

=3/6

=1/2

So Rp=2 ohm

Now Rp and R1 are in series

So Rs

= Rp+R1

= 2+4

=6 ohm

So effective resistance in the circuit is 6 ohm

Total current

= V/R

=12/6A

=2A

Now R1 and effective resistance Rp are in series so the current is same

So potential difference across Rp

=2×2 V

=4V

Now R2 and R3 are in parallel connection so p.d is the same

So p.d across R2 is 4V
