Width of verandah = 1.25 m

Length of Outer rectangle formed = 5.5 + 2*1.25

= 5.5 + 2.5

= 8 m

Width of outer rectangle = 4 + 2*1.25

= 4 + 2.5

= 6.5 m

Area of verandah = Area of outer rectangle - Area of room

= 8 * 6.5 - 5.5 * 4

= 52.0 - 22

= 30 m^2

Cost of cementing = Area *Rate

= 30 * 15

= Rs 450
