The time taken by ball A to reach Ball B
=
 \frac{20}{5} = 4sec

During the time interval 0 to 6s
ball covers a distance of 20m upto ball B(which takes 4 sec) and in the next 2 secs it covers
4 \times 2 = 8m \: in \: backward \\ \: direction
Net displacement
=
20 - 8 = 12m

hence average velocity
=
 \frac{net \: displacement}{time} \\ \frac{12}{6 }
=2m/s

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU..........

time taken for going 20 m=(20/5)sec=4sec

distance in next 2sec=(4Ă—2)m=8m

So,total displacement=(20-8)m=12m

So, velocity (net)=(12/6)m/s=2ms^-1
