ANSWER

i)

( -  \frac{2}{3}  \times  \frac{3}{5})  +  \frac{5}{2}  - ( \frac{3}{5}  \times  \frac{1}{6} ) \\  \\  =  \frac{ - 2}{5}  +  \frac{5}{2}  -  \frac{1}{10}

By taking LCM

 \frac{ - 4 + 25 - 1}{10}  =  \frac{25 - 5}{10}  =  \frac{20}{10}  = 2

ii)

( \frac{2}{5}  \times ( -  \frac{3}{7} )) - ( \frac{1}{6} \times  \frac{3}{2}  ) + ( \frac{1}{14}  \times  \frac{2}{5}  \\  \\  =  \frac{ - 6}{35}  +  \frac{1}{35}  -  \frac{1}{4}  \\  \\  =   \frac{ - 5}{7}  -  \frac{1}{4}  \\  \\  =  \frac{ - 11}{28}

2. Additive inverse = negative of given number .

Additive inverse of

i) 2/8 = -2/8

ii) -5/9 = 5/9

iii) -6/-5 = -6/5

iv) -2/9 = 2/9

v) -19/6 = 19/6

3. i) x = 11/15

-(-11/15) = 11/15 = x

When negative is multiplied by negative it gives positive as a result

Hence proved

ii) -13/17 = -(-(-13/17) = -(13/17) = -13/17

4. MULTIPICATIVE INVERSE = 1/ given no.

Multipicative inverse of

i) -13 = - 1/13

ii) -13/19 = -19/13

iii) 1/5 = 5

iv) -5/8 × -3/7 = 56/15

v) -1 × -2/5 = 5/2

vi) -1 = -1

5) i) Multiplicative identity - When a number is multiplied by 1 it gives the number itself .

ii) Commutative property - If a and b are two numbers then

a × b = b × a

iii) When number is multiplied by its reciprocal it gives 1

6) Reciprocal of -7/16 = -16/7

6/13 × -16/7 = 6 × (-16) / 13 × 7

= -96 / 91
