WHAT IS ADDITIVE INVERSE ?

The number when added to its given number giving the result 0 is said to be additive inverse.

We should subtract that number from 0 to get its additive inverse.

All the negative and positive number of equal magnitude are Addtitive Inverse of each other.

Like - Additive inverse of

2 = -2

1= -1

100 = -100 and so on

WHAT IS MULTIPLICATIVE INVERSE ?

The number which when multiply with another and the result is equal to one is said to be multiplicative inverse.

To find multiplicative inverse we should Divide that number with 1 like -

2 = 1÷2 = 1/2

Usually The reciprocal of that number is its multiplicative inverse.

2/3 = 3/2

109/456 = 455/109

Now we can attend the Question ,

The additive inverse of 2 = -2

The multiplicative inverse of 2 = 1/2

Adding both,

- 2 + 1/2

= ( - 4 + 1)/2

= - 3/2 (ANS)
