1. Equatorial Rainforests are located in the tropical region (near the equator) and get direct rays from the sun. So, these forests experiences a very hot climate which also results in high vegetation.

2. The forest floor of Equatorial forests are dark because of the thick vegetation that grows there. Trees that grow there are really tall, which blocks the sunlight from reaching the ground and thus making the ground dark.
