Answer:

1500 l

Explanation:

Given,

Power=5kW

or power = 5000 W

We know,

Power=work done/time-------------------(i)

Height=20m

Time=60 s

g=10m/s^2

power=mgh/time taken........................ [from (i)]

or P=m x 10 x 20/60

or   5000=200m/60

or   5000=10m/3

or   10m=15000

or   m=1500 kg

density=mass/volume

volume=mass/density

volume of water=1500/1000=1.5 m^3

1m^3 =1000 litres

1.5 m^3 =1.5 x 1000= 1500 litres

Therefore mass of water that can be lifted per minute by the pump is 1500 kg.

And amount of water that can be lifted by the pump per minute is 1500 litres.

Thanks :D
