Solution

Given ,

  • 2x + 5y = 19 whose ordinate is 1 whole 1/2 times it's abscissa .

So ,

  • Let x be the abscissa of the given line 2x+5y=19 , then given condition ;

=> ordinate (y) = 1 whole 1/2 × abscissa

=> y = 3/2x

On putting y = 3/2 X in the given equation we get :

2x + 5(3/2)X = 19

Now solving this we get ;

=> 4x + 15x = 38

=> 19x = 38

=>X = 38/19

=>X = 2

On substituting the value of x in equation 1 we get ;

=> y = 3/2×2 = 3

=>y = 3

So, the required points are (2,3)
