Answer:

1. The Intertropical Convergence Zone, or ITCZ, is the region that circles the Earth, near the equator, where the trade winds of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres come together.

2. The surface air that flows from these subtropical high-pressure belts toward the Equator is deflected toward the west in both hemispheres by the Coriolis effect. These winds blow predominantly from the northeast in the Northern Hemisphere and from the southeast in the Southern Hemisphere.

3. The Westerlies: These winds blow from subtropical high-pressure belts towards sub-polar low-pressure belts. They blow from the southwest direction in the northern hemisphere and from the southeast direction in the southern hemisphere.

4. Winds always blow from high pressure to low pressure. So the winds from subtropical region blow towards the Equator as Trade winds and another wind blow towards Sub-Polar Low-Pressure as Westerlies. These belts located between 60° and 70° in each hemisphere are known as Circum-Polar Low-Pressure Belts
