a)Because water has more intermolecular space than honey. As there is more intermolecular space between the particles of water the ink gets into the gaps of water particles in a very big amount and so it spreads faster in water than honey.
b)The forces between liquid particles are weaker than the forces between solid particles. This means that liquid particles are further apart and can move about more easily. Since the particles can move, the liquid can flow and take the shape of its container.
c)Solid,liquid and gas arte three states of matter. Solids are relatively rigid, definite volume and shape. In a solid, the atoms and molecules are attached to each other.
d)(i) Both of them dobnot have any definite shape. They can take up the shape of the container in which these are kept. (ii) Both of them show the property of diffusion. However, gases diffuse faster.
e)Particulate nature of matter means that all matter is made up of discrete tiny particles. Characteristics of particles of matter: 1. Particles of matter are very small.2.Particles of matter are continuously moving.

i)Diffusion is faster in summer season as due to the increase in temperature ,which increases the kinetic energy of the particles and hence ,makes diffusion faster.
j)A sponge has minute holes,in which air is trapped, when we press it,the air is expelled out and we are able to compress it. Sponge is a porous solid. It has all the properties of a solid.
