M1 moves downwards with the acceleration a..  M2 moves up with the same acceleration, in opposite directions, as the string is tight and inextensible.

Forces on  m1 :    Tension upwards T    and weight  mg downwards.
        m1 g - T =  m1 a

Forces on m2:    Tension upwards T  and weight mg downwards.
       T - m2  g  = m2  a

Adding them:      a = (m1 -m2)g / (m1 +m2)

v² = 2 a h
    = 2g(m-1 -m2)/(m1+m2)

so answer will be  (4)..
