we know

average \: velocity =  \frac{total \: displacement}{tota l \: time \: taken}

  • First we calculate displacement

By definition of displacement we can say that

Displacement = 2meters ( just join A and B the distance between them is displacement)

  • Second we calculate time

given speed is 1 m/s and 4 steps are taken

so for each step it will take 1 second

so a total of 4 seconds are taken

  • Lastly we got both values. just put the values in equation

v =  \frac{displacement}{time}

v =  \frac{2}{4}

v =  \frac{1}{2}

finally \: velocity = 0.5 \:  \frac{m}{s}
